16th ESLS RF Meeting
Barcelona, 9-10 October 2012.

This is the 16th meeting of the RF experts of the European Synchrotron Light Sources. It is a yearly meeting intended to share operation experiences, discuss the new developments in the field and it is also a forum to establish international collaborations in the field of RF for synchrotron light sources.
It will be held at the Maxwell Auditorium, ALBA facility -in Cerdanyola del Valles, Barcelona, Spain- the 9th and 10th of October 2012.
The sessions will start the Tuesday 9th in the morning until the Wednesday 10th early afternoon.
A visit to the ALBA accelerators is foreseen for the 9th in the afternoon.

Important: ACCESS TO THE ALBA FACILITIES

In order to meet the conditions of the CELLS-ALBA safety regulations, we ask you to follow the next steps:
1) First day: You must identity yourself (ID card or Passport) at the control entrance.
2) At this moment, you will get a personal badge at the control entrance.
3) Enter / exit during workshop period: use the magnetic badge when passing through the security post.
4) Last day: When leaving, your last day, please return the personal badge at the control entrance

Getting to ALBA

Arriving by car

car ALBA-CELLS facilities are very close to the AP7 (connecting Barcelona with France) and C58 highways. From the Barcelona city center you can reach the site via C58 (Google Maps).

Arriving by plane

airport Barcelona International airport is the closest airport to ALBA-CELLS facilities. It is well connected to the Barcelona city train stations (BCN-Sants, BCN-Passeig de Gracia, BCN-Catalunya). Visit the AENA website for more information (or telephone +34 902 404 704).
You can also easily reach Barcelona center by car (take C32-B direction "Barcelona", merge into C31 via the ramp Barcelona/Ronda Litoral and go to Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes) or the ALBA-CELLS site (Google Maps).

Girona-Costa Brava airport is the second option (AENA site). It is mainly operated by low-cost airlines and is one-hour drive by car to Barcelona.

Arriving by train

train Due to the closest location to Barcelona, the preferred option if you come by train is to arrive to one of the Barcelona main train stations (BCN-Sants or BCN-Estació de França). Both stations are connected to the subway. Renfe (website) is the spanish railway company. It is recommended to buy a ticket to Plaça Catalunya subway station (Plaça Catalunya is also a train connection). Once in Plaça de Catalunya, you have several options:

Take the line R4 of RENFE direction Terrassa/Manresa and stop at Cerdanyola del Vallès. Once there, two bus lines connect Cerdanyola del Vallès RENFE station with ALBA-CELLS site (Line A4 Cerdanyola del Vallès-Sant Cugat and Line B7 Cerdanyola del Vallès - Rubí). Bus stop is Sugrañes.
Follow the FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya) sign and take the lines , , or and stop at Sant Cugat station. Once there, go to the RENFE Sant Cugat station and take the bus connecting the ALBA-CELLS site.
